Terms & Conditions
Effective Date: 8 May 2026 | Last Updated: 10 August 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By booking, purchasing, or using any service offered by Kindred Canine ("Kindred Canine," "we," "us," or "our"), you ("Client," "you," or "your") agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not book or use our services.
2. Description of Services
Kindred Canine provides private, one-on-one dog walking, science-based behaviour modification consultations, and bilingual puppy training services within Metro Vancouver, British Columbia. All services are delivered exclusively on a private, one-on-one basis — we do not offer group walks or shared sessions.
Kindred Canine does not accept dogs with a known history of severe aggression toward people or other animals. Clients are required to disclose any such history at the time of booking (see Section 5).
3. Service Area
Walking-related services are currently offered only in the South Surrey and White Rock areas while other services are offered within Metro Vancouver, British Columbia. Requests for service outside the designated area(s) may be considered on a case-by-case basis and may incur additional travel charges.
4. Booking & Scheduling
All bookings are made through our online scheduling platform (Wix Bookings) or by direct arrangement. Appointment confirmations, reminders, and invoices will be sent to the email or phone number provided at booking.
5. Client Responsibilities
By booking services with Kindred Canine, you represent and warrant that:
-
All information provided about your dog, including breed, age, medical history, and behavioural history, is accurate and complete
-
Your dog has no undisclosed history of severe aggression toward humans or other animals, and you will disclose any other behavioural concerns prior to the first session
-
Your dog is up to date on core vaccinations (see Section 6 below) and in good general health, free of any contagious illness
-
You will provide safe, lawful access to your property for scheduled visits, including any necessary keys, codes, or lockbox arrangements
-
You will leave adequate food, water, walking equipment (leash, harness, waste bags), and emergency contact information accessible to Kindred Canine during scheduled visits
-
You authorise Kindred Canine to seek emergency veterinary care for your dog, at your expense, if you cannot be reached in the event of an emergency during a scheduled service
Each client must complete and submit the required Activity Waiver Form ("Activity Waiver"). Misrepresentation of your dog's behavioural history, particularly regarding aggression, is a material breach of these Terms and may result in immediate termination of services without refund.
6. Vaccination Requirements
To protect the health and safety of your dog, other animals, and the public, all dogs receiving services from Kindred Canine must be current on their core vaccinations in accordance with standard veterinary guidance in British Columbia. By booking services, you represent and warrant that your dog is up to date on the following core vaccinations:
-
Rabies (as required by law in British Columbia)
-
Canine distemper virus
-
Canine adenovirus (hepatitis)
-
Canine parvovirus
These core vaccinations are commonly combined in a single "DAP" or "DHPP" vaccine. Depending on your dog's lifestyle and our professional assessment, Kindred Canine may also require or recommend certain non-core vaccinations, such as Bordetella (kennel cough) and Leptospirosis, particularly given the outdoor and in-home nature of our services.
Kindred Canine may request proof of current vaccination from your veterinarian at any time, and reserves the right to decline or discontinue services until acceptable proof is provided. You agree to inform Kindred Canine promptly if your dog's vaccination status changes. Vaccination requirements are set for the safety of all and are not a substitute for veterinary advice; please consult your veterinarian regarding the appropriate vaccination schedule for your dog.
7. Right to Refuse or Discontinue Service
Kindred Canine reserves the right to refuse, suspend, or discontinue services at our sole discretion, including but not limited to situations where:
-
A dog displays aggressive or unsafe behaviour not previously disclosed
-
The client's home or property presents an unsafe working environment
-
Payment is not received in accordance with these Terms
-
Continuing the relationship would, in our professional judgment, not be in the best interest of the dog, the client, or Kindred Canine
8. Payment Terms
Payment is due at the time of booking or as otherwise agreed in writing. We accept payment through Wix Payments and other methods as made available. Prices are subject to change with reasonable notice; confirmed bookings will be honoured at the rate quoted at the time of booking.
9. No Guarantee of Results
Kindred Canine provides services based on current applied animal behaviour science and Fear Free principles. However, behaviour modification and training outcomes depend on many factors outside our control, including the dog's individual temperament, history, and the guardian's consistency in following recommended guidance between sessions. We do not guarantee specific behavioural outcomes, timelines, or results.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kindred Canine, its owner, and any representatives shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of our services. Our total liability for any claim arising from our services shall not exceed the amount paid by the client for the specific service giving rise to the claim.
This limitation does not apply to damages arising from gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Kindred Canine and its owner from any claims, damages, injuries, or losses arising from your dog's behaviour, your failure to disclose relevant information about your dog, or your breach of these Terms or any term in the Activity Waiver.
12. Photo, Video & Testimonial Use
With your consent, Kindred Canine may photograph or video your dog during sessions for use in marketing materials, social media, or our website. You may opt out of this at any time by notifying us in writing; we will honour your request going forward.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of British Columbia.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms and terms within the Activity Waiver.
15. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions and all the terms within the Activity Waiver will continue in full force and effect. If in doubt, the English versions prevail.
16. Language
These Terms & Conditions, and all other Kindred Canine policies (including the Privacy Policy, Cancellation Policy, Refund Policy, Disclaimers, and Activity Waiver), may be made available in English, Traditional Chinese, and/or other languages for your convenience. The English-language version of these Terms and of all such policies is the official and governing version. In the event of any discrepancy, inconsistency, ambiguity, or difference in interpretation between the English version and any translation, the English version shall prevail and be binding.
